If your signs aren't a shinning example of the divisiveness you seem to advocate, then nothing has shown it better. Separate, inflame, name call. Great way to get things done! Good job!

The only people getting called out are the people who have perpetuated this system. Those who always call out the poor and middle class about class warfare and then perpetrate class warfare on the people.

I've heard enough about how the people that are struggling are lazy etc. But what about the people who sidle up along the public treasury and want money for their own pet projects. What about the conflicts of interest we have seen.

People who are conservative when it comes to their own money, but they don't mind spending hundreds of thousands of dollars per year from the public treasury on Union Square.

It is divisive to do something for one group of people and ignore everyone else based upon connections. And you know what we are talking about. Don't play dumb. We remember that you are smarter than us, we've been told enough. We don't have the information you have, but you also don't have the information we have.

The way things are right now just don't feel right. Harry asked about the local economic plan moving forward. I don't think you have any plan other than "No Change." And that means more money going to Union Square. They already get $75,000 per year and I know that $75,000 more was asked for and I don't know whether they got that or not in this budget and then the million dollar tent.

"No Change" means no end in sight for money to Union Square. Isn't that correct?

There is no having a discussion with someone as mean spirited as you and your Hipps/SNG. You attack and put labels on people that you probably have not rationally discussed issues with. No one is calling anyone lazy-this is your way to incite people for your own agenda. Sad what you are say you are doing to make this City better. Would like to see the same efforts into builing rather than tearing down the City and the citizens and elected leadership. Might get more done?

Have YOU rationally sat down and discussed issues with those OTHER than who agree with you?

You have a perfect chance now. Drop the self-rightous act and state your case. Or is that being mean spirited?

And while you aren't calling anyone lazy at this particular point in time in this particular thread, I would urge you to drop down and look at the comments under the piece I wrote. Down toward the bottom. Might not have been you, but that was written by someone who certainly embraces your line of thinking.

And yes, building would be much better than tearing down. But sometimes you have to demolish in order to re-build. It's never clean or simple, but often necessary.

So, how's that for earning my "mean spirited" label this day since I can only presume "SNG" was aimed at me.

I have heard it stated that there are jobs out there but people are unwilling to take them. Now, carry that to its logical conclusion. And I have heard it stated that people are unwilling to work and carry that to its logical conclusion. I have heard that from multiple sources.

You are only calling me mean spirited because I won't back down. As Harry asked, "what is the current council's economic plan going forward?" And as I will ask, "What has it been?"

We have proposed a lot of things, such as a microlending plan. We have talked about a larger regional Farmer's Market. We have talked about a Craft's Museum as an incubator that we think could work in the buildings near the tracks. We have talked about working in conjunction with the local fiber companies to create a local High Speed fiber network. We talked about the rail project using the old rail lines. We brought the idea forward of a real amphitheater and it goes on and on and on.

And I am willing to listen to anyone. You can ask people I am a good listener, but I don't take kindly to getting bullied. I got bullied when I was younger and I learned not to take it a long time ago.

The problem that I have seen is that the local PTB don't understand that they have fostered this lack of respect by their high handed actions. Just look at all that has occurred over the last few years in manipulating processes and suppressing speech at City Council meetings.

And anything we talk about is automatically dismissed by the local PTB, because they don't like us, we don't fit in their little club, and it doesn't fit their agenda of "No Change!"

Oh and the question I asked that you haven't answered and I don't see why not since you are anonymous, what does it hurt?

"No Change" means no end in sight for money to Union Square. Isn't that correct?
